Christer Strömholm: Post Scriptum

Featured photograph, "La Methode, Paris 1960," is reproduced from Max Ström's exquisite new volume, Christer Strömholm: Post Scriptum, the largest monograph ever published on the legendary Swedish photographer (1918–2002). Essayist Carole Naggar writes, "Strömholm's attitude is in contrast to the cliché of the photographer as predator. On the contrary, nearly spellbound, he lets himself be captured by reality. This is particularly evident in his work on faces. Strömholm allowed himself to be permeated by the world, mindful of its facillation and its mysteries. In so doing he reached an awakening, a meditative state in which dream sand consciousness merge."
