If only Summer could stretch from here to eternity…

This weekend, we are all-in to celebrate the universally awesome feeling of a non-denominational, unpoliticized, last-hurrah-style, extra day off before our official work year begins. Let us hope that those of us who must still labor are earning king-size tips or getting overtime. To mark the occasion, we pulled a poster from Reel Art Press’s expertly curated and beautifully produced 640-page labor of love, 1001 Movie Posters: Designs of the Times. Featured here is French master graphic artist René Péron’s 1953 two-panel poster for Fred Zinnemann’s iconic, multi-Oscar-winning, Hollywood-goes-to-Hawaii wartime melodrama, From Here to Eternity, starring Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Deborah Kerr, Frank Sinatra and Donna Reed, among other supporting stars.
