Demolishing the recent trend toward online publishing, the smart, playful and physically elegant magazine is edited by Annabel Brady-Brown and designed by Matt Willey backed by an apparently unstoppable team from Pentagram. From a 2003 Cannes Film Festival ticket to The Brown Bunny—sent to Paul Morrissey by Vincent Gallo, and excavated from the Paul Morrissey Archive—to a movie-themed crossword puzzle, this issue contains so many fascinating features. Much, much more on Morrisey; a remembrance of Gary Indiana through his favorite films; interviews with Christian Petzold and Elaine May; an investigation of special effects makeup and monster mask design; and a “cinemap” of sacred film landmarks of Belgrade, Serbia, are just a few of the treats to be found in this collectible 152-page periodical.
