Filthier than ever: R. Crumb's 'Bible of Filth'

When the first edition of R. Crumb’s Bible of Filth was published in France in 1986, it was denied American distribution due to its truthfully-advertised politically-incorrect, erotically-charged, whole-heartedly inappropriate graphic content. It’s an interesting moment in American politics for the book to make a comeback, especially in this beautifully produced new and expanded edition. Leather-bound and printed on gold-edged bible-paper, this book is exactly what it says it is, exuberantly and unapologetically filthy. Collectors are raking it up faster than you can say, “Snatch Comics,” “Git whitey,” “Joe Blow” or “Horny Harriet.”
