A new paperback edition of 'John Cage: Diary'

John Cage lovers, rejoice! A new, expanded paperback edition of Diary: How to Improve the World (You Will Only Make Matters Worse) is available at last! To the original eight sections written for publication in Clark Coolidge's magazine, Joglars, this volume adds a new essay by mycologist and Cage scholar David Rose and an added chapter containing a sampling of pages from the only known materials from the unfinished ninth part, now held in the archives of the John Cage Trust. One diary scribble reads, "This is the first of the global commandments. Thou shalt not divide the world into nations." Another says, "Music gives us practice in reading things we can't understand." Like the first volume, this is a real treasure.
