Perfume-lovers, rejoice! ‘The Handbook of Great Italian Perfumery’ is a new release this week!

Featured image—of a late-nineteenth-century Bolognese cologne called Acqua di Felsina—is reproduced from The Handbook of Great Italian Perfumery: Fifty Years of Exceptional Scents, the new release from Silvana. A deluxe celebration of Italy’s unique perfume-making industry, this 360-page volume contains 250 color illustrations, including an anthology of the 100 most celebrated Italian fragrances, as well as a chapter dedicated to perfume production, from initial scent profile to bottle design. Also included is an index of 7,000 perfumes produced in Italy over the past 50 years.
