Iggy Pop Life Class

It's true. Iggy Pop Life Class opens tomorrow at the Brooklyn Museum. The result of a one-day nude life drawing class at the New York Academy of Art, for which Pop was the unexpected model, the project was the brainchild of artist Jeremy Deller, who writes, in the accompanying monograph, "Even though his body has been photographed and reproduced in print and online millions of times, I felt it could only be properly understood and appreciated by being drawn—a process in which you give the subject the attention it deserves. I am the first to admit there is a degree of absurdity in the idea of convincing someone, who is known for his dynamic stage presence, to be still for four hours."
