There's nothing that isn't amazing about George Shiras: In the Heart of the Dark Night. Exquisitely printed on thick, creamy paper, this perfectly concise, 96-page linen-bound volume with tipped-on cover image features 50 remarkable duotone images of nocturnal nineteenth-century wildlife produced by Pennsylvania lawyer, congressman and conservationist photographer, George Shiras, whose use of flash and camera-trap equipment allowed for the first night-time photographs of wild animals in recorded history.
