Design studies for the 1968 Cultural Olympics in Mexico are reproduced from
CORY REYNOLDS | DATE 4/14/2015

Lance Wyman: México

Lance Wyman is best known for his lively graphic designs for the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City - a commission he won at the age of just 29. Featured here are several of his studies for the Cultural Olympics of the same year. They are reproduced from Lance Wyman: México, the first comprehensive publication on his work in the country. He writes, "The two basic ways we learn to represent and communicate objects, actions and feelings are with words and images. Words are an effective method of communicating complicated interrelated ideas. It is symbols, however, that can communicate across the language barriers."
