Lina Bo Bardi: 100

The Italian-Brazilian architect and designer Lina Bo Bardi (1914–92) has been much in the news lately, with an exhibition of her design work currently on view at R & Company and special attention paid to her contributions to the MoMA exhibition Latin America in Construction: Architecture 1955-1980 and the Americas Society's Moderno: Design for Living in Brazil, Mexico and Venezuela, 1940-1978. Featured image, an interior photograph of Bo Bardi's iconic first building, Casa de Vidro in São Paulo, Brazil—originally designed for herself and her husband, curator and museum director Pietro Bardi, in 1951 and photographed in 2014—is reproduced from Hatje Cantz's magnificent centennial publication, Lina Bo Bardi: 100.
