Enrico Natali: Detroit 1968
Young boy on the north side of Detroit

"Young boy on the north side of Detroit" is reproduced from Detroit 1968, Foggy Notion's exceptional new book of black-and-white photographs by Enrico Natali. Essayist Mark Binelli writes, "Viewed in a contemporary photographic context, in which Detroit is so often cast as a modern Acropolis, Natali's open-hearted portraiture positively gleams, and feels like a bracing and welcome corrective. But on its own terms, his work captures a singular moment in the city's history. For an area native, the title Detroit 1968 resounds as sharply as Moscow 1918, Berlin 1990, or Baghdad 2004—the year after everything changed."
