ARTBOOK @ Art Basel Miami Beach, December 2, 2010

DATE: 12/2/2010 | BY CORY REYNOLDS

After a teeming vernissage on Wednesday night, the ARTBOOK team dropped by Miami's Bass Museum to see Creative Carribean Network, the most comprehensive exhibition of Isaac Julien's work of the last 10 years. The following morning, we helped Art Basel Miami Beach inaugurate the Salon Talks series with a conversation between curator Hans Ulrich Obrist and the legendary Italian artist, Michelangelo Pistoletto, one of the most influential members of the 1960s Arte Povera movement.
"In subtle yet complex narratives, Julien’s body of work is a meditation on the cultural impact of global migration. His installations are presented on an epic scale; poetic and art-historical references are interwoven into frank portrayals of human drama." ARTBOOK @ Art Basel Miami Beach, December 2, 2010

Hundreds of fans attended the event, which began before the official open of the fair on Thursday morning. Pistoletto generously stayed on to sign dozens of books.
