Marcel Broodthaers: Collected Writings

At long last, the esteemed Spanish art book publisher Poligrafa has released Marcel Broodthaers: Collected Writings, a monumental (500 pages!) and exquisitely produced compendium of poems, statements, critical essays, unpublished works, open letters, interviews, preparatory notes and scripts by the late, great, father of both institutional critique and conceptual art. Generously illustrated with examples of Broodthaers' work in print, film, installation and sculpture, as well as his artist's books, this volume is a scholarly necessity. Featured image, reproduced from Marcel Broodthaers: Collected Writings, is an installation shot of the 1968 edition, "Le Corbeau et le Renard," comprised of a large screenprint on canvas, a typewriter and three smaller screenprints.
