A beautifully produced clothbound hardcover with a ripped-apart, tipped-on cover image, this collection of vintage vernacular photographs from new publisher August Editions features only pictures in which one of the subjects has been lovingly, mysteriously, or violently excised. Whether repurposed for a romantic keepsake like a lover's locket, or indicating complete excommunicating, the missing pieces can only be guessed at. The remaining images leave much to the imagination.
