Karine Laval signing 'Poolscapes' at AIPAD

We are delighted to host French photographer Karine Laval signing Poolscapes, her new book from Steidl, in AIPAD Booth 629 Friday, April 5 at 4 PM. It would be hard to imagine a more evocative book, filled with photographs that are both seductive and eerie, surreal and melancholy, in the words of essayist Claire Barliant. "Swimming pools, at least in hibernal regions, connote the fleeting, quicksilver days of summer; with their promise of cool relief from the heat, they offer ease, relaxation and joy—feelings that are cruelly ephemeral."
