Hannes Schmid: Real Stories

This week, JRP|Ringier released Hannes Schmid: Real Stories, the exhibition catalog to the Swiss artist and photographer's current retrospective at Kunstmuseum Bern. Over the course of 40 years, Schmid has documented cannibal folk culture in Indonesia, toured with more than 250 bands, including Kraftwerk, Queen, Blondie, Depeche Mode and AC/DC, and produced iconic fashion and advertising photographs for brands like Marlboro—famously appropriated by the artist Richard Prince. Featured image, "Cowboy #205" (2001/2012), is reproduced from Hannes Schmid: Real Stories.
