Ed Ruscha

In the first volume of Steidl's six volume Ed Ruscha Catalogue Raisonné of the Paintings, Yve-Alain Bois writes, "Once asked to define himself, Ruscha answered: 'Look, I'm just another member of the food chain.' True enough, but I would add: a particular member of our species who turns out to be a formidable machine designed to increase brainpower, an intelligence generator, with humor as its spark." We are pleased to represent all six volumes of the Catalogue Raisonné. Featured image, "Not Only Securing The Last Letter, But Damaging It As Well (Boss)" (1964), is reproduced from Volume I, 1958-1970.
