Featuring approximately 300 recently unearthed archival photographs—many in color, and published for the first time—this volume presents the richest portrait to date of one of the most fascinating and relentlessly experimental artists of the twentieth century. In addition to leading the charge of the French art movement Nouveau réalisme, Klein, who died in 1962 at the age of 34, was a pioneer of Performance art and a progenitor of both Minimalism and Pop.
