Danny Fields on 'His' Ramones

"When you start a band, one of your expectations, besides getting laid a lot, is that you're going to have your picture taken," former Ramones manager Danny Fields writes in My Ramones, his new photography collection from Reel Art Press. "When you actually do it, it's not that easy. Like all groups, the Ramones started out feeling awkward about being photographed. So they worked at it. They used their sessions with me, where they had some control and freedom, to learn how to be in front of a camera. I learned a lot too."
Fields will appear in conversation with Rolling Stone deputy photo editor Sacha Lecca Wednesday, April 4 at Spoonbill Studio in Bushwick, and with Please Kill Me author Gillian McCain Friday, April 6 at Rizzoli.
