Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis, 1944-2013

Best known for his design work for Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, Hipgnosis partner Storm Thorgerson died Thursday, of cancer. He is remembered by PictureBox publisher Dan Nadel as "one of the all-time great graphic artists." Nadel worked with Thorgerson for about a year on For the Love of Vinyl, “the only definitive book on the Hipgnosis output.” He points fans to Hipgnosis partner Aubrey “Po” Powell’s tribute on the Guardian site, as well as an obituary and other tributes. Featured image is Hipgnosis’ design for Led Zeppelin’s 1976 album, Presence.
