Gordon Parks: Back to Fort Scott

"Husband and Wife, Sunday Morning, Detroit, Michigan" (1950) is reproduced in two remarkable publications by STEIDL. One is the monumental, 5-volume, slipcased Gordon Parks: Collected Works, and the other is the remarkable forthcoming Gordon Parks: Back to Fort Scott, published to accompany the current exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. "A year after Life hired him, the magazine sent Parks back to Fort Scott, Kansas, where he had spent his first sixteen years attending the town's small segregated schools. His assignment was to find the eleven members of his junior high school graduation class and discover what had become of them in the ore than twenty years that had elapsed since his departure."
