A panoramic new exploration of Christian Dior

Only pretension.” Featured photograph—of Dior reviewing original sketches in 1949—is reproduced from Silvana’s super-gifty, 504-page survey, published to accompany a recent exhibition at the M7 Qatar Museum for innovation in design, fashion and technology in Doha. Featuring 120 haute couture designs from the House of Dior under all of its creative directors, 1947 to now, alongside fashion photography, film stills, vintage perfume, cosmetics, sketches, furniture and decorative arts, this book is an elegant design object in and of itself, with black printed edges and a 1949 sketch by Dior animating the spine.
