An Artist on Two Islands

Edited by Soren R. Wolff. Essays by Siegfried Blau, Irene Heinecke, Bernd Kretschmer, Theofilos Kunaris, Rolf H. Schmitz, Helge Sobik, Niels Sylvest, Wilhelm Tham, et al.
Published by Wasmuth

Having raised public sculptures weighing more than 200 tons to heights of more than 16 meters, Danish artist and publisher Anders Nyborg has become known for the monumentality of his work. Abstract constructions that exploit the tensions and contrasts between such materials as rusted iron and shiny steel stand tall in Schonebeck, on the island of Norderney, in Bremerhaven and Majorca. The clear, strong colors of his large-scale abstract acrylics and gouache paintings reflect the particular light conditions of the islands of Bornholm and Majorca, where he lives and works for six months of the year.
