Artbook @ MoMA PS1 Bookstore presents "Les Masques" children's workshop with Louise-Marie Cumont

Sunday, September 16, from 2-4PM, the MoMA PS1 Book Space presents French artist Louise-Marie Cumont and Élisabeth Lortic, co-founder of the extraordinary French children's book organization Les Trois Ourses, for a children's workshop inspired by Cumont's cloth book "Les Masques" (The Masks).

In this free workshop, children ages 7 to 12 will create collaboratively-made masks while learning about symmetry in a playful hands-on activity. The final masks will offer four different readings that are full of surprises and will be explored together at the end of the workshop.

Artists' books for children by Louise-Marie Cumont, Katsumi Komagata, Fanette Mellier, Fanny Millard and other exhibitors in the current Center for Book Arts exhibition Look Look Look...A Playful Book, curated by Élisabeth Lortic, will also be on display.

The workshop is organized by the Artbook @ MoMA PS1 Bookstore with the Center for Book Arts and Les Trois Ourses, with sponsorship from the French Institute and FACE Foundation. It is free and open to the public. RSVP here to reserve a spot.
