Saving Cape Cod Modernism

In the spring of 2014, Metropolis Books will publish Cape Cod Modern: Mid-century Architecture and Community on the Outer Cape, a follow up (of a sort) to last summer's architecture bestseller, Fire Island Modernist: Horace Gifford and the Architecture of Seduction.

Currently gathering texts by Kenneth Frampton, Peter McMahon and Christine Cipriani, alongside a wealth of photographs both vintage and new, publisher Diana Murphy is also helping to spread the word about the Weidlinger House Restoration Project, an initiative of the Cape Cod Modern House Trust to help save a 1953 house designed by the renowned structural engineer Paul Weidlinger, so that it can be transformed into a home for creativity and learning.
