| | | ALEX GALAN | DATE 2/8/2013On the clear, moonlit evening of Friday, February 1st, ARTBOOK | D.A.P. celebrated the opening of our new Los Angeles showroom, in collaboration with our gift sales representatives Aesthetic Movement and BOOKFORUM. The event dovetailed with the inaugural Los Angeles Art Book Fair, which took place that weekend at the cavernous MOCA LA Geffen Contemporary.Actor Jason Schwartzman and TamTam Books publisher Tosh Berman provided entertainment in the form of a roast which both celebrated and parodied the venerable tradition of a sales meeting with a bookbuyer. The routine, which was inspired by Berman's popular YouTube series ToshTalks, found the pair expounding on everything from Yoko Ono and Hans Peter Feldman to the forthcoming Metropolis title, Never Built Los Angeles and the French artist Sophie Calle.
