Edited by Moisés Puente. Text by Giovanna Borasi, Seng Kuan, Carlo Menon.
Insights into an architectural practice that combines art with technology, and building with inventing
Brussels-based architectural firm Baukunst, founded in 2012, has both art and technology built into its name ("bau" for building and "kunst" for art). Maintaining a high level of abstraction, its fluid practice positions all projects as theoretical propositions, to be returned to repeatedly over time. The selection of works featured in this issue of 2G is not an archive of its work, but rather a research atlas in which the montage of architectural drawings, site photographs, models and digital images speaks of the latent ideas germinated and tested across its projects.
