You're invited to come make an instant book from a single piece of paper: Spend a minute or hang out for awhile and learn variations, pockets, E-Z pop-ups. Draw, write, collage. You can even make a zine to publish later.

Purgatory Pie Press limited editions and artist books will also be on display and available for purchase.

Esther K Smith is the author of "How to Make Books" and 5 other book arts books including a reprint of the Victorian catalog, "Specimens of CHROMATIC WOOD TYPE Borders &c" and "Making Books with Kids." As artistic director at Purgatory Pie Press, she hand-makes limited editions and artist books with Dikko Faust, who hand-sets their vintage wood and metal type and prints on a mid-century letterpress. One of the longest running artist/publishers, they have collaborated with more than 100 other artists and writers. Their work is in collections at MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Cooper Hewitt, the V&A and many other public and private museums and rare book libraries world wide.
