'Matthew Brandt: Lakes and Reservoirs' Launches Thursday at MOCA Grand Avenue

On Thursday, October 16 at 6PM, the MoCA Store at Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, presents a book launch and signing with Matthew Brandt, whose beautiful new monograph, Lakes and Reservoirs is just out from Damiani and Yossi Milo.

Inspired by the American landscape and traditional darkroom techniques, Brant's finished works are usually the result of a labor-intensive developing process that relies upon actual physical matter taken from his subjects.

For this series, Brandt photographed lakes and reservoirs in the western United States, and then submerged each resulting C-Print in water collected from the subject of the photograph.
