Gloria Wismer and Stephanie Rebonati of Edition Patrick Frey Talk Books at Bungee Space!

Sunday, April 21, from 6–8 PM, our friends and colleagues from Edition Patrick Frey join the likeminded Lower East Side select shop Bungee Space for book talks with local collaborators Armando Alleyne, Sedon Pepper, Laura Serejo Genes, Kathleen McCain Engman and David Jacob Kramer. Together they will speak on urban happenstance, textile design for covers, graphic novels turning into artists' books and what trust has to do with making photo books.

The evening will begin with an introduction about Edition Patrick Frey by Gloria Wismer (head of press and marketing and also the founder and co-director of Volumes, the independent art publishing fair of Zürich) and Stephanie Rebonati (independent art book editor and writer and International Publisher Services Manager at our very own Artbook | D.A.P.)—both working at Edition Patrick Frey for more than ten years.

Gloria and Stephanie will not only introduce the history of EPF and its publishing program but also briefly talk about books that are especially dear to them: Gloria will give insight into Pathé'O, which she project-managed. Stephanie will speak about Mark Thomas Gibson’s Early Retirement, which she copy-edited and project-managed.

Next up, a book presentation by Kathleen Engman, the mother of Charlie Engman and the subject of his photo book, MOM. Kathleen will briefly speak on what trust has to do with making photo books.

Following this, painter and poet Armando Alleyne, his collaborator Sedon Pepper and co-editor Laura Serejo Genes will do a poetry reading and presentation on his artist's book Armando Alleyne: A Few of My Favorites.

And finally, an audio book presentation of Heads Together: Weed and the Underground Press Syndicate, 1965–1973 by the book's author and editor, former bookstore owner and creative director, David Jacob Kramer.
