Hello independent press lovers! Dancing Foxes Press is the Artbook @ MoMA PS1 Independent Publisher-in-Residence for the month of June! The Artbook @ MoMA PS1 bookcase features a monthly rotation of an independent publishing house whose missions the bookstore supports and whose books they love. We are so happy to see this spotlight on the thoughtful publications of our longtime friends. Please visit this special bookshelf at our bookstore this month!
Brooklyn-based independent publisher Dancing Foxes Press is committed to producing books that put the concerns of art and artists at their center.
Projects are driven by content and collaboration. Publications range from artists’ books and monographs to scholarly writings, anthologies and exhibition catalogues.
Recent projects include a collection of essays by the late curator and art historian Karin Higa, whose work focused on the individual and collective narratives of Asian American artists; a book documenting Alex Da Corte’s reenvisioning of Allan Kaprow’s 1962 Happening "Chicken"; the first monograph on the work of Lorraine O’Grady, copublished with the Brooklyn Museum; and the third issue of Pounds Per Image (PPI), a collaboration with the Pratt University photography department, by artist Leslie Hewitt.
Also: the Artbook @ MoMA PS1 bookstore is looking forward to collaborating with Dancing Foxes to celebrate a hot new publication by A.K. Burns… Please stay tuned for more details coming soon!
