ARTBOOK @ Walker Sets Up Shop at the 2013 AIGA Conference

From October 10-12, 2013, ARTBOOK @ Walker teamed up with the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts), whose national conference was held in Minneapolis, for a three-day pop-up design store that reminded us how much we love graphic designers--and how much they love books. Our store featured the very best and newest design books in print today, alongside a brightly curated selection of objects, posters and stationery supplies from the world renowned Walker Shop.

Our book stock sold so quickly to the avid crowd that we had to replenish daily from the Walker Shop's reserves!

Key speakers at the conference came to sign books in our booth, including Marian Bantjes, whose new monograph from Metropolis Books, Pretty Pictures, sold out in minutes, and George Lois, designer, art director and author of such fundamental books as Damn Good Advice and $ellebrity. (Signing behind Lois, above, are speakers Maria Giudice, author of Rise of the DEO: Leadership by Design (Voices That Matter) and Kit Hinrichs, author of Long May She Wave: A Graphic History of the American Flag.

Even with the museum open, and food, drinks and music available on every floor, the Walker Shop was mobbed from the minute the party started until the last light went out.
