Born in New York and based in California, Ruth Pastine (born 1964) is known for her minimalist color field paintings and multi-panel installations evocative of the Light and Space movement. For more than 40 years, she has pursued a phenomenological investigation of visual perception through paint's relative qualities of color, saturation and depth.
