| | | FORTHCOMING Introduction by Thomas Houseago. Text by Nick Cave.
Leeds-born, Los Angeles–based artist Thomas Houseago (born 1972) is best known for his sculptures that combine traditional (wood, plaster, clay and bronze) and less conventional (steel cables, canvas and cement) materials. During the last couple of years, however, Houseago has started painting, with liberatory results. Vision Paintings charts his recent foray into the medium, presenting a wide selection of both figurative and abstract artworks created between 2020 and 2022. The book features various large-scale series (including the Vision Paintings, California Love Songs and Vortex Paintings). Thematically, Houseago is drawn to nature, drawing on landscapes in Malibu, Big Sur and Yosemite . . . .go to book page >> | | STATUS: Forthcoming | 8/8/2023 This title is not yet published in the U.S. To pre-order or receive notice when the book is available, please email orders @ artbook.com | DILECTAHbk, 11 x 14 in. / 312 pgs / 300 color. | 8/8/2023 | Awaiting stock | US $70.00 |

| FORTHCOMING Edited with text by Jean-Marie Gallais. Text by Yann Chataigné.
This exhibition catalog accompanies a group show exploring a driving force behind contemporary creative output: inward focus and detachment from reality. In contemporary painting in particular, figuration and abstraction are increasingly muddled, giving way to new forms that merge materiality, meditation and visceral experience.
