Artbook at MoMA PS1 Bookstore presents Prem Krishnamurthy, David Knowles and others launching 'Past Words'

Saturday, May 10 at 4 PM, Artbook at MoMA PS1 Bookstore presents an experimental, participatory book launch that plays with different ways of experiencing books collectively. Designer and curator Prem Krishnamurthy’s Past Words—a new anthology of his selected writing and exhibition projects spanning fifteen years—will form the basis for a suite of collective activities incorporating reading, writing, movement and dialogue. Come for connection with people, ideas and words—plus karaoke!

Artbook @ MoMA PS1 Bookstore presents Prem Krishnamurthy, David Knowles and others launching 'Past Words'

Prem Krishnamurthy is a designer and curator who has directed design studios, established galleries and institutions, curated large-scale exhibitions, and taught internationally. He has authored several books including P!DF (2017–2020), On Letters (2022), and Past Words (2024). Currently, Krishnamurthy runs Department of Transformation, an artist-organized group that prototypes new modes of togetherness, learning and collective healing.

David Knowles is a graphic designer based in New York City specializing in the fields of book design, art, publishing, branding and entertainment. His work ranges from collaborative publications with artists and writers, to corporate identities, to exhibitions and public events. Currently, Knowles directs the queer, design-forward publishing house Domain, where he initiates original book projects with some of his favorite artists and writers.
