Architectural Association presents the UK launch of 'Archigram: The Magazine'

From its launch in 1961 to issue 9 ½ in 1974, Archigram magazine challenged and dazzled the international avant-garde across the worlds of architecture, design, and art. One of the rarest serial publications of the 1960s, copies are extremely hard to find today.

The production of this first-ever facsimile of Archigram has been a labour of love conducted over the past two years in a partnership between D.A.P., Designers & Books, and Archigram. The edition retains all the original surprises and idiosyncrasies of the original issues: flyers, pockets, posters, gatefolds, pop-ups, and even an electronic resistor. A fully illustrated reader’s guide features essays by Peter Cook, David Grahame Shane, and Reyner Banham; tributes from architectural luminaries including Tadao Ando, Beatriz Colomina, Mike Davies, Odile Decq, Norman Foster, and Bernard Tschumi; an index of key concepts, projects, and names; previously unseen archival images; and more.
