Adriano Berengo founded his Murano studio in 1989 in order to allow artists who had never worked in glass to freely experiment with the medium. Since then, artists such as Tracey Emin, Ai Weiwei and Thomas Schütte have all used glass (and, by extension, Berengo Studio) as a site for artistic research.
