Judith Milberg: Works on Paper and Canvas 2015–2017
Edited with text by Eva Karcher. Text by Bärbel Kopplin.
The paintings of Munich-based artist Judith Milberg abound with ornamental and floral motifs: filigree lines develop into rosettes, flowers and vegetable-like patterns swirl and flow over the picture ground. This publication surveys her work of the past three years.

"At this point, I need to explain something to you. I'm a synaesthete, which means that I hear colors and see sounds. Every letter and every work has a color. Regina, for example, begins red, becomes light yellow, and then comes a white sound, then a blue sound, then green, and the A at the end is dark blue. Every synaesthete has his or her own system for dealing with color. I also don't see objects, but rather shapes and structures and their formations with respect to one another. The substance of things, their microscopic elements. Rather the fine thread of a dandelion than the flower itself, or, rather the pollen than the flower." —Judith Milberg, from Works on Paper and Canvas 2015-2017 continue to blog
