| |   |   | Keith Arnatt: Iím A Real PhotographerPhotographs 1974-2002Foreword by Brett Rogers. Text by Clare Grafik, David Hurn.
This book tells the story of Keith Arnatt's journey in photography, in 19 series of photographs. Each series features prosaic subject matter--his dogs, the local garbage heap, everyday objects photographed in his studio, notes that his wife Jo left for him--exploring the conventions of the medium with a distinct edge and humor. Seen together for the first time, the threads and themes of Arnatt's work connect to make a coherent statement about the act of photography and its relationship to the history of art. Arnatt's story and work prove surprising, provocative, profound and moving. Accompanying 160 of Arnatt's photographs is the personal account of Arnatt's journey in photography by David Hurn, Magnum photographer, author and Arnatt's close friend and colleague. With a foreword by Brett Rogers, Director of The Photographers' Gallery, London, and a contextual essay by curator Clare Grafik. Published in association with The Photographers' Gallery, London
