Book Soup is a 34 year old bookstore on the Sunset Strip in the heart of West Hollywood. With 60,000 titles and a staff that is knowledgeable and passionate, Book Soup is a classic independent bookstore and an L.A. Landmark. Book Soup carries titles ranging from the most popular to the most obscure, and employs a staff that can help you navigate the labyrinth of black shelves that carry everything from Mapplethorpe to Art Speigelman to Harry Potter. Though it is a general bookstore, Book Soup specializes in what the employees love most: art, photography, literary fiction, subversive non-fiction, film, music and graphic novels. Book Soup also holds hundreds of author events every year, sometimes multiple through the course of one day, ranging from literary powerhouses to Hollywood celebrities, up-and-coming authors to heavy hitting bloggers. You never know who youíre going to run into at Book Soup. If the inside of the store isnít enough, one turn around the corner and youíll find yourself in one of the largest newsstands in Los Angeles with upwards of 3,000 magazine titles to choose from.
