AIGA presents '50 Books | 50 Covers: The Exhibition' at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn

Thursday, March 19–Sunday, March 22, 2022, AIGA presents 50 Books | 50 Covers: The Exhibition, a four-day celebration showcasing the 2024 winners of AIGA’s 50 Books | 50 Covers, one of the most prestigious competitions in publishing design. Free exhibition with ticketed Opening Reception.

AIGA presents '50 Books | 50 Covers: The Exhibition' at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn

Celebrate the very best in book and book cover design at the 50 Books | 50 Covers exhibition. Founded in 1923, this iconic competition honors the 50 most beautifully designed books and 50 covers published each year. Selected works join the permanent AIGA Collection at Columbia University’s Rare Book & Manuscript Library and are featured in AIGA’s online gallery.

Join the AIGA for four days of design excellence, beginning with an Opening Night Reception you won’t want to miss. Hear directly from leading voices in book and editorial design during a live panel discussion, as they share insights into their creative process, materials, and decision-making behind today’s most compelling books. Then, experience the work the way it was meant to be seen — in person — flipping through pages, examining paper, bindings, typography, and finishes, and truly appreciating the craft that makes these books exceptional.

Enjoy cocktails and light bites, meet the award winners, connect with fellow designers, and immerse yourself in the winning books published in 2024 — a rare opportunity to engage both with the ideas behind the work and the physical beauty of the objects themselves.

Live Panel Speakers:
• Scott Vander Zee, Designer & Educator, Pratt Institute & Parsons—The New School
• Alex Lin, Founder, Studio Lin
• Jonathan Key, Partner, Morcos Key
• Perrin Drumm, Head of Publishing, A24 Films
• Caroline Harrison, Illustrator & Artist

Opening Night: March 19, 2026
5:30 PM – Doors Open
6:30–7:30 PM – Panel Discussion
7:30–8:30 PM – Cocktails & Networking
