Sir Christopher Frayling launches 'Frankenstein: The First Two Hundred Years' with screening at Metrograph

To meet the bicentennial of Mary Shelley’s masterpiece, art historian, critic, award-winning broadcaster, and scholar of the Gothic, Sir Christopher Frayling has completed a remarkable new book, Frankenstein: The First Two Hundred Years, published by Reel Art Press. Frayling’s wide-ranging, erudite study moves from the prehistory of the original novel through its countless adaptations for stage and screen, including the most famous cinematic outing for Frankenstein’s monster, directed by James Whale for Universal Studios.
