Artist Antoni Miralda and ARTBOOK | D.A.P. will present the launch of El Internacional (1984–1986): New York's Archaeological Sandwich, a book about El Internacional Tapas Bar & Restaurant, the iconic postmodern sensation that Miralda launched in then-unsettled Tribeca with Chef Montse Guillén in 1984. El Internacional was the first restaurant to combine avant-garde artistry and food, and became an iconic symbol of New York in the 1980s through its exploration of cross-cultural, trans-disciplinary aesthetics.

The event will include a presentation, dialogue and short documentary, followed by a projection of pages from the book. After the presentation, there will be a book signing and tapas buffet, paired with the iconic blue margarita that was emblematic of El Internacional.
