Edited by Claudia Banz. Text by Barbara Vinken, Barbara Pönighaus-Matuella. Photographs by Stefan Zeisler.
Weave your way through 3,000 years of trouser history with this glossy Z-bound collection of pants past and present
Published with Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien.
Long, short, loose or tailored—for 3,000 years, pants have been as much of a societal staple as a cultural flashpoint. Through a Z-bound selection of 70 examples, Barbara Vinken weaves a sartorial narrative from the primitive trousers of the Bronze Age to the slacks worn by "rebellious" women in pursuit of equality.
