Preface by Catherine Prouvé. Text by Catherine Coley.
Prouvé's first postwar temporary house designed for his own family, remarkable for its use of the axial portal frame pavilion
While on vacation in 1946, Jean Prouvé (1901–84) began looking for a site to build a temporary 8 x 8 house that could accommodate his large family. The Carnac Demountable House would go on to become an important part of the architect and designer's modular canon.
