MARSILIO ARTE

Nebula

Edited with text by Bianca Stoppani, Alessandro Rabottini, Leonardo Bigazzi. Text by Karen Archey, Natalie Bell, Nasrin Himada, Emily LaBarge, Paolo Pecere, Philippa Snow, Xiaoyu Weng, Isobel Whitelegg.

An otherworldly constellation of new video art that explores the vast, labyrinthine landscape of consciousness

Stemming from the 2022 volume Penumbra, Nebula brings together eight new site-specific video installations staged by the Fondazione In Between Art Film in Venice. Each work touches on themes of a different nature: the vastness of landscape; the architecture of memory and the labyrinth of consciousness; music and the voice as means of reaffirmation. The idea for the exhibition was inspired by the phenomenon of mist as a material and metaphorical condition in which the possibility of orienting oneself through sight is reduced, making it necessary to activate different sensory means in order to understand one’s surroundings.
Artists include: Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Saodat Ismailova, Basir Mahmood, Cinthia Marcelle and Tiago Mata Machado, Diego Marcon, Ari Benjamin Meyers, Christian Nyampeta.
