|   |   | Ellsworth Kelly: Sketchbook #26Limited EditionForeword by Christophe Cherix. Text by Samantha Friedman.
A gorgeous, faithful facsimile reproduction of an iconic and revelatory Kelly notebook, in a custom clothbound caseMade between 1954 and 1956—when Ellsworth Kelly (1923–2015) returned to New York after six formative years in France—Sketchbook #26 represents the artist at his most innovative. Across 36 pages of a spiralbound Strathmore sketchbook, he wielded pencil and felt-tip pen in a bold, saturated palette to explore forms that are at once geometric and iconic. MoMA's deluxe facsimile edition, produced in a limited run of 500 copies, represents an extraordinarily faithful reproduction of the sketchbook, including pages with cut-outs and collage elements, and is accompanied by a booklet with an introductory essay and an analysis of the sketchbook. The facsimile and booklet are housed together in a custom clothbound clamshell case. Sketchbook #26 is published as part of a centennial celebration of the artist.
