Edited by Frizzi Krella, Andréas Lang. Text by Frizzi Krella, Hans-Michael Koetzle, Stefan Weidner.

In 2006, inspired by an eclipse, German landscape photographer Andréas Lang (born 1965) traveled the Middle East, Turkey, Syria, Israel and Palestine, capturing landscapes related to early Christianity and the Crusades. Influenced by the paintings of Caspar David Friedrich, Lang’s mostly black-and-white photographic series Éclipse is presented in this publication.
