In 1985, Swedish artist Ulf Rollof (born 1961) traveled to a small village in Michoacán, Mexico, where he lived with Doña María Vélez and her family. While living there, he created a portfolio-cum-scrapbook of photographs, drawings and anecdotes—bridging a pivotal chapter in his life with local Mexican history.
