The enigmatic, colorful landscapes of “Stuckist” Czech painter Jirí Hauschka (born 1965) hark back to the Symbolism of turn-of-the-century painters such as Canadian painter Tom Thomson, German Expressionist Franz Marc, or, more recently, Daniel Richter and Peter Doig. This monograph surveys his engagement with these lineages of landscape painting.
